Oval : The Shape of the New Decade
The shape that is front and center in the new decade is oval. The perfect balance and classic line of the oval shape enhances an interior in many ways. Picture frames, mirrors, vases, placements, area rugs, chandeliers, sconces, bowls, platters, trays, and tables.
Metal and shine are a hot trend in home design. Shiny silver balls in glass bowls and cylinders on a table. Candlesticks on a mantle, brass trays, pewter placemats, beaded throw pillows, sterling silver picture frames are an excellent way to add the glamour. Don't forget about lighting! Choose elegant chandeliers and lamps to add style and interest to any space.
Think beyond white walls. Create a balanced color palette that brings the colors of nature inside your home. Exotic and nature influenced colours are current trends. These are colors like fern green, bark brown, straw, copper and blues. Wallpaper is also a way to add interest and character to any space. From geometric patterns, floral designs, landscape, to stripes, there is a wide variety and selection of wallpaper to choose from. Expect to see wallpaper coverings in the entire room this year.
